But there’s very little university-quality, professional information available for people who are serious about wanting to write or Illustrate their own Children’s Picture Book, perhaps with the intention of finding a publisher or agent and making a career in publishing.

 

Christyan has been writing and illustrating his own books (as well as collaborating with other authors) for the last 35 years, with over 50 books published worldwide. He’s also taught in Universities and the V&A in London, as well as one-to-one mentoring in the subject for the last ten years, so he knows a thing or two.

 

Here you’ll find a series of Free Video Resources that will teach you the inside secrets, tips and tricks of the trade that you usually can’t find online or in books.

*Please note that these courses are focussed on picture books for the 3-7-year-old market. If your interest is in writing Middle Ground (roughly 8-12 years) or Young Adult teen fiction, these courses will not cover those areas.
